7th August 2006 PRESS RELEASE
eWorld Purchasing & Supply to unveil the latest thinking and technological innovation in procurement, sourcing and supply chain management
eWorld Purchasing & Supply, the largest gathering of purchasing
executives in Europe, will see this year’s Autumn edition
on the 25th & 26th of September at the New Connaught Rooms in London
London, UK – eWorld Purchasing & Supply is the UK's most comprehensive business forum for eProcurement, eSourcing and Supply Chain technologies. Organised in association with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS), Supply Management and The Aberdeen Group, the event brings together over 600 senior business executives from the corporate and public sector responsible for implementing electronic purchasing strategies, sourcing suppliers online and enabling digital supply chains. Now in its 7th year, this twice yearly industry forum comprises an intensive programme of expert keynotes, educational seminars, practical advice and case studies.
Delegates at eWorld Purchasing & Supply all benefit from the following features:
Free Daily Keynotes
An impressive line-up of keynote speakers will share daily their expert opinion on major industry issues. The day will open with The Aberdeen Group presenting its compelling vision of the next wave of innovation in procurement related to its people, process, and technology in a presentation entitled “Supply Management 3.0” as a keynote presentation. This will be co – presented by Andrew Bartolini (Research Director) and Stephen Gold (President).
CIPS will be introducing Colonel Tim Collins OBE as our lunchtime Keynote.
" If you are ferocious in battle, remember to be magnanimous in victory."
These were the words of Colonel Tim Collins' famous speech to British soldiers just hours before they entered into battle in Iraq in 2003. Yet the following year, Colonel Collins left the army in a storm of controversy, becoming a vocal critic of the MoD’s failing supply chain operations. This lunchtime keynote offers some terrifying insights into what’s going wrong and the often catastrophic consequences for the British Army.
Free Educational Seminars
Delegates at eWorld Purchasing & Supply will gain exclusive access to more than 25 educational seminars and case studies on topical issues regarding the latest developments in eProcurement, eSourcing, e-Auctions, online marketplaces, eInvoicing, multi-country sourcing, contract management, supplier collaboration and business process transformation.
Free Exhibition Area
Hands-on demonstrations of the full range of emerging technologies for purchasing and supply chain applications will be provided in the co-located exhibition area by leading service and solution providers such as BravoSolution, Oracle, Procserve and Vendigital. Over 25 technology suppliers will showcase their latest solutions for eProcurement and eSourcing, enterprise spend management, private trading exchanges, public eMarketplaces and reverse auctions, digital supply chains, supplier integration and collaborative commerce.
“eWorld Purchasing & Supply continues to be a major event for the UK’s Purchasing community which provides equal value to both the attendees and the sponsoring suppliers. The structure of the day is well thought out as a result of many years of experience.” Commented Andrew Douglas, Procurement Director at Oracle. “The level and interest of attendees is as good now as it was 7 years ago. This indicates that there is no sign of the event getting stale or the appetite from the buying community diminishing. We have been pleased to support eWorld Purchasing & Supply over the last 7 years and look forward to continuing our support for the foreseeable future.”
eWorld Purchasing & Supply is due to take place at New Connaught Rooms, Covent Garden, London, on the 25th & 26th of September 2007. Places at the event are offered free of charge to senior purchasing and finance professionals in UK businesses and public sector organisations.
