Global to Local Ltd, Director and Chairman

Before setting up Global to Local Ltd, Helmut worked for London Boroughs as a planner and environmentalist for over 20 years, most recently at Assistant Director level in an Environmental Services Department.

Helmut has a good understanding of public sector responsibilities for implementing sustainable development. He has worked on a wide number of projects internationally helping public sector bodies to improve their sustainability performance across all public sector functions. Projects include EMS for clusters of local authorities; development of tools for the integration of sustainable purchasing and environmental management, mainstreaming of sustainable procurement and introduction of environmental technologies such as low emission vehicles and car sharing systems. He has served on a wide range of committees including TCPA policy committee and the Management Committee for The Natural Step. He is chair of the TCPA Zero carbon task force and.chair of the Stroud District Climate Change Panel.

Recent work being managed and delivered by Helmut includes:
Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation: National Sustainable Products Catalogue 2007-8 and 2011+; mainstreaming of sustainable procurement processes and adaptation of key contracts to more sustainable outcomes;
