Jeremy Smith
Director of Corporate Services
Jeremy has a background as an industry practitioner, before becoming a management consultant. He is currently the Director of Corporate Services at the International Institute for Advanced Purchasing & Supply.
He has worked primarily in the Procurement and Operations areas and in many industries and for a wide range of multinational organisations in North America, Europe and the Middle East. These include Aviva, Barclays Bank, BP, Dubai Petroleum, Husky, McNicholas, Norwich Union, Shell, Thames Water and Wood Group.
Jeremy’s has led Purchasing and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) Transformation initiatives, as well as training staff in world-class and leading-edge practices. His experience combines a blend of strategic sourcing, cost management, lean business process re-engineering, project management, and IT management skills. He has also been influential in the development of open book commercial models and has driven cost saving in many large Blue Chip companies.
Jeremy’s work has also focused on process and business dynamics. This has been applied to IT solutions, internal management process, external project activity and whole business scenarios. This process knowledge has then been applied to develop organisational structures, IT system models & infrastructure and future state processes.
This experience has been of considerable benefit to IIAPS, where he assisted in the development of the IIAPS suite of International Green, Red & Black Belt qualifications, as well as the development of the Sourcematix simulation environment for activity & task based learning and assessment (ATLAS). Jeremy has also leads the IIAPS corporate and individual benchmarking practice.
